Looking like this (top left) and moving at 80km/h, you’d be hard-pressed to tell that that thing is an e-bike.
LTA officers stopped the rider last week along Woodlands Ave 4 and impounded his e-bike, for the very simple reason that it’s not supposed to go that fast!
All power-assisted bicycles are allowed to travel at a speed of up to 25km/h.
Said the LTA:
“We would like to remind everyone that only LTA-approved PABs affixed with an LTA seal, and in compliance with the following rules http://bit.ly/2hXQleE, are allowed for use on the roads.”
