If it looks too good to be true, please remember again hor that it probably is.

This man (who shall not be named to shield him from friends mocking about his sheer stupidity) managed to negotiate a good price for an iPhone 7 from an online seller.

He even arranged to meet the seller at an MRT station to “one hand give money, one hand give good”, or cash on delivery, thinking that this would be the safest way to transact for big-ticket items like an expensive handphone.

Upon meeting the seller, he handed over the cash and received iPhone box which was sealed.

But something was amiss as the seller walked off hurriedly after receiving the money.

The man opened the box and discovered that inside was a plastic bag containing nails and screws.

What a way to literally screw someone over!

The man looked around and couldn’t find the rogue seller, so he called the police.

Lucky for him TransCom officers (aka MRT mata) were alert and found the culprit – a 25-year-old male.

The rogue seller has been arrested and the case is being investigated.

Again, like election-time promises, if it looks or sounds too good to be true…
