Uber and Grab drivers aren’t too happy about being forced by the LTA to put up a Private Hire Car Driver’s Vocational Licence decal identifying them as private-hire drivers.
Many have been discussing ways to hide the label since they cannot remove it without voiding the sticker and having to purchase a new one.
Now it seems that one online seller has thrown them a lifeline – a tinted sticker which they can fix over the PDVL decal.
The seller goes by the nickname “deedum” on online selling platform Carousell.
For just S$5 a pair, PDVL-shy private hire drivers can use this tinted sticker to black out the large Private Hire word on the sticker.
However, it appears that the label will be fixed outside the windscreen of the car, as the LTA has ordered that all PDVL stickers must be affixed at vehicle inspection centres.
It’s unclear whether the label will be able to withstand the heat and the rain since it has been touted as “easily removable”.
From the start of July, all private hire drivers will need to display the PDVL decal on the front and rear windscreens of their cars.
