NTU Researcher Caught Taking Upskirt Videos of Women

Maybe Lin Junquan’s job as a researcher at Nanyang Technological University wasn’t exciting enough.

For 3 years until he got caught, the 33-year-old filmed upskirt videos of women around Singapore.

At first, he recorded about 6 upskirt videos a year.

From 2020, that number grew to around 10 upskirt videos a month.

He would edit the videos, save them in a secret folder and rewatch them again for his own pleasure.

Lin commonly struck at Pioneer MRT station, targeting women wearing short skirts.

Things came crashing down when he was caught in March 2021.

He followed a woman wearing a black skirt and took a 38 second upskirt video of her while she was taking the escalator to the MRT platform.

A commuter saw him, grabbed his haversack to prevent him from escaping, and dragged him to a station staff on duty.

Lin was sacked by NTU in 2021.

On Mon (4 Sept), he was jailed for 8 months and fined S$1000 after pleading to 2 counts of voyeurism and another charge of possessing an obscene film.
