A 33-year-old Singapore Armed Forces regular serviceman was found motionless at a stairway landing of a building in Kranji Camp II yesterday evening.
He was checked an SAF Medical officer and pronounced dead at 5.30pm.
MINDEF says the death was not training-related.
Police do not suspect any foul play.
The case has been classified as unnatural death and investigations are ongoing.
This is the SAF’s 3rd death non-training related death in 7 months.
In September last year, an SAF full-time national serviceman was found handing from a rope in his office at Sembawang Air Base.
In July 2018, an off-duty regular serviceman was found hanging from a rope in his bunk in Nee Soon Camp.
The SAF has recently taken heat for the spate of training-related deaths, with 4 of these deaths occurring in the past 17 months.
