A new police impersonation scam is making its rounds!
This time, it involves scammers sending people emails made to look like they’re from the Traffic Police.
Recipients are told they need to pay a parking ticket fine and attend court.
They’re then told to click on a link, and that’s when they’ll be directed to a website asking them to call a phone number to make payment by credit card.
Police have clarified that those emails aren’t sent by them, and that they don’t accept payments over the phone.
Police have also advised those who receive such emails not to click on the link, and for the public at large, to call their hotline at 1800-255-0000 to clarify any suspicious emails or communications.
