A secondary school teacher has been caught out for mocking his students’ work on social media.
The teacher, Mr Tan (full name withheld), added derogatory captions to pictures of students work and posting them on Instagram Stories.
Posts on Instagram Stories disappear after 24 hours.
These are some of Tan’s works:
Tan reportedly joined the Ministry of Education in 2016, and is currently teaching at Swiss Cottage Secondary School.
He has over 2000 followers on Instagram, some of whom are reportedly his students.
Opinion is split on Tan’s posts.
Some have called him “obnoxious” and “unprofessional”, saying he shouldn’t be posting students’ work on social media in an attempt to make fun of them.
Others say his comments are “pretty mild” and “not malicious”, and shouldn’t raise a fuss as students’ identities were not disclosed.
