More than 50% of Singaporean children watch or read sexually explicit material. Some were as young as seven when they were exposed to this. 30% of children admitted to watching or reading sexually explicit material, whether intentional or accidental.
This was the finding of Touch Cyber Wellness, the main agency that gives online safety talks in Singapore schools. The agency polled 836 students aged 13 to 15.
Experts say the findings are worrying as such content affects young people’s attitudes and behaviour towards love and sex, and may lead to sexual crimes.
