If you’re a Singtel user, beware of strange emails that come your way.
Some subscribers have complained of phishing emails in the form of a notice stating “Your Singtel bill is now available for download”.
The “bills” are in the $200 range, with some emails coming from a Singtel or Singnet email address.
Such phishing mails are malicious attempts by hackers to steal your personal data, or lock your computer.
Clicking on links in the email will start the download of malicious files onto your computer.
Singtel says it is aware of this issue, and is working to take down the websites from which the emails stem.
It has advised recipients to delete such scam emails immediately.
