Tampines Central residents got a grusesome shock last night (29 May).
At about 10.15pm, 46-year-old Serinn Tan was found dead, lying in a pool of blood on a bed in her 3-room flat at Block 520A Tampines Central.
She was dressed in pyjamas, and 2 stab wounds were found on her chest and abdomen.
The other deceased, 49-year-old Zhuang Hong Nan is believed to have killed her and committed suicide.
There’s suspicion that Zhuang stabbed Tan to death in her flat, then went to the 10th floor of the HDB block and leaped to his death.
Zhuang has been married since 1989, and it’s believed that he was having an affair with Tan, who got a divorce in 1998.
Tan had been living in the unit by herself since the separation.
Neighbours have expressed shock by the double deaths.
They say that they didn’t hear any sound of quarreling coming from the unit before the incident.
Police are investigating the incident.
This latest incident is eerily similar to a slaying at Geylang earlier this month, where a man allegedly stabbed to death his Vietnamese masseuse wife and committed suicide after the killing.
