A terrifying encounter for gym-goers at the Virgin Active’s Tanjong Pagar gym on Wed (5 Apr).
A lat pullback machine toppled over and crashed to the ground, making a deafening noise that shook the gym.
Fortunately, no one was using the machine at the time and none of the gym-goers suffered any injuries.
Upon inspection, one of the gym-goers said that the bolts holding the machine to the ground looked rusty and worn.
The area has since been cordoned off.
Virgin Active says that an internal investigation into the incident is underway.
The company added this was an isolated event and that they prioritise the safety and wellbeing of their members.
