The young couple who abused an ah pek at the Toa Payoh Lor 8 hawker centre last Friday has been arrested.
This comes amidst strong public condemnation of their behaviour after videos of their actions were widely shared online.
From the video, it appears that the young women didn’t want to share a table with 6 seats with the ah pek.
She scolded him using vulgar language and phoned her male friend, who subsequently came over and knocked into the ah pek from behind.
Another hawker centre patron then ushered the ah pek over to his table to sit down.
The daughter of the ah pek, Caroline Ng, later lashed out against the couple online, and said her father didn’t report the incident to the police because he thought nothing would come out of making a police report.
The young couple has been arrested on charges of public nuisance.
