A 26-year-old motorcyclist died after crashing into a student yesterday.
The motorcyclist, reportedly a fireman with the Singapore Civil Defence Force, had just wedded 4 months ago.
At about 1pm, he was riding along Hougang Avenue 9 towards Yio Chu Kang Road when he crashed into the 16-year-old boy who was crossing the road.
The boy is believed to have been jaywalking at the time.
An eyewitness said that the crash left the motorcyclist with severe head injuries, and the student looked like his leg was twisted and tried to stand up but couldn’t.
Both were sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
While the student survived, the motorcyclist died from his injuries.
Police are investigating the incident.

I had always believed that the PAP government is one of the very few virtually corruptionless and highly responsible governments present within the region or, for that matter, anywhere else in the world.
This new alleged truths are casting doubts on that long standing fact. I do remember JBJ as a fine opposition leader whose life and political status served to give high legitimacy to Singapore itself, as a genuine democratic nation.
If what Kenneth says is true, on his father’s sufferings, then this clearly reflects negatively on Singapore’s image as a clean democracy. It is good that Kenneth supported his father all through his difficulties, otherwise that fine man’s life would have been made more unbearable !
