Sometimes it pays to be nice to your schoolmates.
One chronic gambler, Huang Guan Hao, apparently was pretty recognisable but not very well-liked.
Even at 34 years old, he was identified by a secondary schoolmate who was working at as a service staff at the Marina Bay Sands casino.
Huang had entered the casino illegally, using a friend’s ID in exchange for S$200.
That friend happened to be ah bui Chen Yong An (pictured above).
Huang borrowed Chen’s ID at least 22 times between March and May 2021.
The ex-schoolmate conducted a check in the casino’s computer system and Chen’s name was not found to be registered as a casino visitor.
Instead, Chen’s name appeared on the list of people who are barred from entering casinos.
The ex-schoolmate then reported the breach.
Chen was fined S$13,000 yesterday for violating the Casino Controls Act, for his role in helping Huang illegally enter casinos.
Huang is wanted by the police, and is still at large.
