The ice-cream vendor at Esplanade Bridge is happy that his business has increased, but others are finding it a pain that a huge influx of maids and foreign workers who have made the place their latest hotspot.
The place is packed to the brim on weekends when they are given a day off.
Many lay down mats to have a picnic, or simply find a space to sit down with friends and chat.
There have been complaints that the throng of maids and foreign workers blocks the Esplanade Bridge pathway, making it a challenge for passers-by to walk across.
Other complaints include noise from those who blast music from their speakers, and thrash left behind by some irresponsible groups.
Besides Esplanade Bridge, maids and foreign workers also frequent Lucky Plaza in Orchard Road and Paya Lebar Square.
