Chinese New Year is the time of the year for visting, and with that, casual gambling lah.
But what happens when the new notes that you’ve won from your suay cousins are missing a “star” or two?
Don’t add injury to insult and whack them hor, because those aren’t counterfeit notes.
Rather, it’s a security feature put in place by the Monetary Authority of Singapore to authenticate the note.


Instead of stars, there might be other shapes such as circles and triangles.
Then again of course, no amount of stars can turn a S$2 angbao into a S$10 one.
