It’s unclear how it happened, but this boy managed to get his toes trapped in an escalator at the Toa Payoh HDB Hub at about 1pm on Saturday (4 Jun).
Lucky for him, SCDF officers who responded to the incident were skilled enough to free him without needing to slice off a toe or two!
Officers used hydraulic rescue tools to help the boy get his foot out of that tight situation, and subsequently sent him to KK Hospital.
This latest toe-trapping incident follows the one in January this year, where another child found his foot trapped in an escalator at the National Library.
The boy struggled and managed to free himself before SCDF officers arrived, but the top right portion of his big toe was severed.
